Primitiva “Eva” Macasieb Villanueva, 89, of Kula, Maui, previously of Pahoa, died Dec. 22, 2019. Born Nov. 27, 1930, in the Philippines, she was a nursery worker at Hawaiian Greenhouse in Pahoa.

Larry Baird
Mr. Larry Richard Baird, 73, of Captain Cook, died Dec. 23, 2019, at Kona Community Hospital. Born Sept. 6, 1946, in Claresholm, Alberta, Canada, he was a real estate appraiser.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Lee Baird of Captain Cook; daughter, Joelle (Jared) Saxbury of Honaunau; brother, Jack (Mila) Baird of Canada; numerous nieces and nephews.

Akio Yogi
Akio “Ed” Edwin Yogi, 66, of Keaau died Dec. 19, 2019, at his residence. Born in Hilo, he was a retired maintenance factory repairman for the former Hilo Coast Processing Company.

Roy Kawasaki
Roy Tamotsu Kawasaki, 75, of Kent, Wash., formerly of Hilo, died Nov. 16, 2019, in Seattle. Born in Honolulu, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army, worked at Container Corporation of America/Jefferson Smurfit and Weyerhaeuser Company and was a member of Evergreen and Puget Sound Golf Clubs.
A celebration of life was held in Kent, Wash. He will be later interred at Punchbowl National Cemetery of the Pacific on Oahu.
He is survived by wife, Karen Kawasaki of Kent, Wash.; sons, Douglas Takeshi (Olivia Shone) Kawasaki of Mercer Island, Wash. and Russell Akira (Dr. Kristi Stanley) Kawasaki of Garden Grove, Calif.; brother, Karl Kawasaki of Pearl City, Oahu; sisters, Laraine (Randy) Sagon Kawasaki of Hilo and Marilyn Kawasaki of Seattle; two granddaughters; numerous aunties and cousins.
Arthur Lorenzo
Arthur Antone Lorenzo, 88, of Hilo, died Dec. 9, 2019, at Hale Hoola, Hamakua. Born July 3, 1931, in Waiohinu, he was a rancher and a veteran in the US Marines Corps during the Korean Conflict. He also was a member of the Paniolo Preservation Society.
Friends may call 5-7 p.m. Jan. 17 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel for a 7 p.m. celebration of life with military honors. Casual attire.
He is survived by wife, K. Elizabeth “Bebe” Lorenzo of Honokaa; daughters, Kathy (Glenn) Baybayan of Keaau and Kimberlee Lorenzo of Pahoa; sons, Arthur Joey (Trish) Lorenzo of Kauai and Clifford Lorenzo of Waimea; brother, Donald (Shirley) Lorenzo of Hilo; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren;one sister-in-law; numerous nieces and nephews.

Shirley Ann Naomi Mae, 65, of Hilo, died Dec. 31, 2019. She was a graduate of Hilo High School, earned an Associates Degree in Secretarial Science, was employed by Big Three Industries, and was a mail carrier for 35 years.
